Community Life

Magnet students are actively involved in all aspects of student life at Kennesaw Mountain, including athletics, fine arts, service learning, character education, and student government (called Mane Link). We believe it's important that they become integral parts of our KMHS family and encourage them to matriculate in as many activities as possible with their demanding academic schedules. In fact, magnet students fill key leadership roles in many of our clubs and organizations.

Successful schools - those with the highest levels of student achievement - do not sidestep the issue of character education. They embrace it. In fact, these schools acknowledge that their success is due in large measure to their attention to guiding principles, through which they have been able to create the supportive learning environment that is absolutely essential for students to achieve high standards. Kennesaw Mountain High Magnet Students have become academic and ethical role models in the community and, in many cases, mentor elementary and middle school students in efforts to insure that our beliefs and standards are passed down to future Mustangs. For more information, please follow this link to the KMHS website:

We also promote the idea of giving back to our community; thus, magnet students are dedicated to service learning. If students perform 185 hours of community service, they receive an honor cord at graduation. For a detailed explanation of this process, please follow this link to the KMHS website:
