Summer Earth Studies - Students

Summer Earth Studies is a high school experiential science course offered by Kennesaw Mountain High School to rising eleventh and twelfth grade students. The course is three weeks long and counts as a honors science credit for students in Cobb County Schools. Students have the opportunity to develop a knowledge of the geology and ecology of their Earth by exploring with teachers and peers many beautiful locations in the eastern and western United States.

Student Goals

  • Students will have an opportunity to explore their world through real-life science experiences, removed from the classic classroom / textbook education.
  • Students will have a field trip experiences they will value the rest of their lives.
  • Students will have successfully completed an experiential science course that can be a defining asset for colleges on their high school transcripts.
  • Students will gain knowledge of the workings of our planet to help develop an awareness first and then a love for our earth and a desire to be its future stewards.
